Hairless Dogs The Naked Truth is the definitive guide to the care, breeding, and history of hairless dogs. Well researched and meticulously documented, this book will once and for all put to rest the many myths & legends surrounding these curious canine companions. Archaeological evidence is presented tracing the history of hairless dogs from their ancient origins to their present day incarnations.
Full of fascinating details, this unique book provides an in depth look at the genetics of hairlessness (dominant & recessive), its perpetuation through selective breeding, and the development of the four officially recognized hairless breeds of today. Discussion of foundation kennels, pedigrees, breed standards and numerous rare, historical photographs make this book an indispensable reference for anyone with an interest in hairless dogs.
With the publication of
Hairless Dogs The Naked Truth, I strived to fill a growing need for factual information on hairless dogs and dispel the myths surrounding them. To that end, the scope of the book has been purposely limited to information that has been carefully researched and verified. As a result, I am proud to present the most comprehensive exploration of hairless dog ancient and modern history ever written. The book is an 8.5 x 11 hardcover with 276 pages, complete with ~400 photographs & illustrations, including a 32 page color section. It has an in depth reference section which includes worldwide hairless breed club addresses (including internet and email addresses where available), a very extensive glossary, index and impressive bibliography of sources.
For any prospective show or pet owner contemplating life with a hairless dog, or the seasoned professional currently owned by one (or many, as the case may be). If you have an interest in hairless dogs, their history, genetics, conformation and so on, you'll want to know The Naked Truth!!
The Naked Truth is NOT:
A book exclusively devoted to the Chinese Crested breed. All of the recognized hairless breeds, and everything in between are given equal coverage.
A book about current top-winning dogs. The Naked Truth is a historical overview of breed development. Dogs of today are included only in that context.
A vehicle to promote or publicize any specific kennels or breeders. The foundation lines of each of the three breeds are traced back to the originally documented foundation stock line.

What's in the future for the team that brought you the The Naked Truth?
Nothing--not any longer. Ever since Amy stole 3 dogs from Kelly [with help from the handler Kelly was paying big bucks.] She then proceeded to kick Kelly out of the XCA and ACCC clubs [both of which she was the webmaster and personally financing], therefore Kelly decided to go out on her own.
But keep in mind, Kelly also
authored, designed, edited and published the first
edition of the Xoloitzcuintli
Club of America (XCA) handbook. It was a 56-page
booklet (5.5x8.5) with more than 50 photographs.
BTW, this work was done at no expense to the club, all paid for out of
Kelly's personal finances.
I'd point you to the XCA website if I had not taken it down since being kicked out of the club. The specific page discussing the handbook, 1999 XCA Handbook has also been taken down.
Another project that Kelly invited Amy to work on [out of what she found out the hard way was a misplaced sense of responsibility], was a breed book on the Affenpinscher and Brussels Griffon with Victor Joris. However, this was another area that Amy manipulated to her benefit--even at the detriment of Victor. Thru a series of malicious lies, she was able to kick Kelly off the project--even though she was [and still is] the publisher.
So when Amy's done sponging off her latest "mark" [let's call her Carol], and gets the book published, she'll more than likely cut Carol off at the knees. [Although she has sold numerous less than quality dogs to Carol to be sent to the same unscrupulous West Coast hander to show for her, so she may keep her around for a while.] For any of you that see a book entitled From A to B - A Comprehensive History of the Affenpinscher & Brussels Griffon keep in mind that a very expensive, PUBLIC copyright infringement battle will shortly ensue.
